Now that's how the standup bass should be played :)
wonderful !
to legend of legends ....who is here in 2024
So fucking beautiful!
Without seeing who you know who’s playing. Just go along for the ride!
Mellow music
5:40! that's a smooth transition 🔥
geniuses shouln't die...
Played with him 5 hours
He played it for me, so sad what happened to Jaco...I played Birdland with him...and 5 sets, he sang! Played my drums wow.....
La magia de Oscar Peterson es irrepetible
Sehr cool 😎
That guitarist is sick
Really emotional to watch Oscar play after the stroke
Superbe version de "You are the sunshine of my life" (5'52")...Quels maîtres!
Fantastic. SG must have been about 80 years old when this was recorded. The world's greatest jazz violinist and also a massively talented jazz pianist (with an echo of Art Tatum I thought). Thank you for posting!
Great.....Rest un peace amazed piano player.
Check out the version at 'The Temple of Dendur in The Sackler Wing', a cool vid with John and Gary Husband.
My fellow bass players- tell me you could just feel those strings when he starts galloping
Wow. What a high level of energy on display. Fantastic
Jesus Christ, this was NHÖP in his prime!
Others can play this now, but before Jaco nobody had heard anything like it on the bass. “Where are all these harmonics coming from?” Bass students at Berklee disappeared for months, holed-up in their dorm rooms, trying to figure it out.
🤩
Jazz guitar with flanger😇 Those were the days!
Jesus Christ... Where did came from....?
Truly great musicianship. I was lucky enough to see Stephane in Huddersfield and NHOP in Middlesborough (both small English towns) in the 1980s. This was at a time when jazz seemed to have a future, with new musicians coming on the scene and famous artists were performing in the most unlikely places. Now that has all gone. I saw the best of times.
The band did all the job. What a performance. But Miles playing is sometimes crap and souns horribly. Respects to Marylin Mazur and Joe McCreary alias Foley!
Love Pastorius ❤❤❤❤
♥♥♥♥♥
That was just wonderful. I met Stephane twice, and performed jazz and blues on the violin in Las Vegas. Unfortunately one time was after a bunch of people came to the venue I was playing at, right after Stephane played, for which I was at his concert and then met up to perform with a great jazz pianist from New Orleans. I almost felt like apologizing for not playing quite like the GOAT, but everybody was great, and if anything, my playing gave even greater appreciation for Stephane's brilliance, creativity and expression.
His wingman fills in whole base chords while still doing the comp. Amazing!!! OP and NHÖP R.I.P. JAMING FOR THE ANGELS.
Bill Frisell. Master guitarist. Master composer and arranger. Master of “warm horns.”
Goduria!
wow... who are the guitarist and the contrabbassist???

Voltaire: 'The most important decision you make is to be in a good mood.'
double bass line is so beautifull....
Thank You, Oscar…..
"All my boys, ah, play in tune!" (😅) Talk about fantastic! ❤
It is not for the first time when this wonderful ballad depicting loneliness of a couple and its inability to connect is being played as a jumpy, med swing happy clappy jazz. The song, as literally any other, is not a music only - it is also about the message - feelings, personal tragedy of those two beautifully described in lyrics. In this respect this duo version is a mistake. A proper attitude which I personally promote and practice: this tune should be played at least four times slower, with a very minimalistic attitude, using dynamics and accents as well as harmonic evolution to build a necessary tension that goes along with the lyrics.
Gold! What a great artist! A classical Monument in the jazz history! Mr. Grappelli!❤ We miss you!! This Trio are wonderful
a true Gift from GOD!!!

No, the gift of damn hard work!!
A story. Can you get this heavy metal band and this guitarist that is a technical guy that could play anything (in a years time) and he hears/watches this. The musical world stops; new diches are spread, you cant stop it. It's me.
Pools!
